Visa and permits
Indian e-Visa
All guests should check if they require a visa to enter India.
For Singaporeans, a visa is required.
You can apply online via India’s official e-visa portal. The application itself usually takes around 15 minutes to complete.
The approval process typically takes 24 to 72 hours, but we strongly recommend applying at least a month in advance in case of delays.
The cost of the tourist visa varies. Please refer to the official website for the most updated information.

You will need to prepare:
- A PDF copy of your passport biodata page, with at least six months’ validity
- A JPG of your passport-size photo
Sikkim Permit
In addition to your Indian visa, foreign nationals are required to obtain an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Sikkim.
The ILP is free of charge and can be easily applied for. Your driver will stop at the checkpost for you to apply for the ILP.
You will need to prepare:
- Original passport
- One passport-size photo
- A photocopy of your passport biodata page
- A photocopy of your granted e-visa
The process is usually very quick and fuss-free. Make sure you keep all the required documents ready in your carry-on bag.
